10/16/11- Pride 6-Commack 0. Surrounded by turmoil and controversy after last weeks loss Pride sorely needed something to feel good about, and Sunday was just that. Team Captains Feigenbaum and Garone got the team fired up during pre-game exercises and set the mood for what would be another shutout victory. Pride overcame a sluggish start and found a way to ignite their offense after several unsuccessful drives. The coaches at the half told the guys to "stay with it, just keep fighting and we are going to win this thing." On our first drive of the 2nd half QB Mikey Vigs threw a 20 yrd pass to a wide open Myzel Perrien who ran 40+ yds for the only TD of the game. Once again our defense showed why they are ranked #1. Alijah Allen pushed around the offensive line with help from Cowie, Filardi, Jackson, McMahon, Vasquez and Weilert. Tackle Cohen and MLB Rallo proved valuable with multiple fumble recoveries. Game saving tackles by DE McDermott, OLB Russo, and OLB Gallub ended Commack's chances of a comeback. Great job boys and coaches. GO PRIDE!!!! Week 7 has us playing Bayport away.

10/09/11- Pride 12-Huntington 18. Red 7/8 lost a hard played game in Week 5.  Strong play by both offense and defense kept the game close. There was some poor officiating by the refs, but our team never gave up. GO PRIDE!!!!! Week 6 has Pride playing Commack at home

10/02/11 - Hills 7 - Gordon Heights 0-   Check it out, Football nation the Pride 7/8 Red team is 3-1!!!. Great job and it figures to get even better. It was the kind of steely, late game effort we have come to expect from the 7/8 Red team. Again defense dominated, led by LE Sean McDermott with 3 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Other notables on defense were DG Allen, DG Jackson, DT McMahon, DT Cohen, DE Perrien, DB Feigenbaum, DT Weilert, OLB Garone, DT Vasquez and DE Russo with a hard hitting, skull cracking, bone breaking, game ending tackle. Offense moved the ball all day with a season high 180+ yds. The day started well with QB Cowie handing off to RB Gallub for a 15 yd run and a first down. FBs Rallo and Filardi grinded away with a total of 80+ yds and were responsible for the TD and EP.  QB Mikey Vigs had a total of 75+yds.GO PRIDE!!!!

9/25/11 - Hills 6 - Connetquot 13.  The 7/8 Red team suffered their first loss of the season.  The team played hard and gave 100%.  Our only TD came late in the game with a 50+ yd run by FB Max Rallo after some good blocking by the left side of the line. Also contributing on offense; QBs Cowie and Viglucci, FB Filardi and RBs Gallub, Garone, and Perrien. Centers Feigenbaum and Weilert(the unknown heroes)also contributed on offense with flawless snaps and exceptional blocking. Our defense (Ranked #1 in the division) held Connetquot to their lowest scoring game of the season.  The defensive line of Allen, Jackson, Cohen, McDermott, McMahon, Russo, and Vasquez held their ground against a larger opponent. Week 4 has us home against Gordon Heights. GO PRIDE!!!!!

09/18/11 - Hills 7- KingsPark 0.  Red 7/8 won their 2nd game today with a hard fought battle and plenty of support from the fans. Defense again did an outstanding job and shut down the Kings Park offense. Myzel, McDermott and Rallo led the team with 3 tackles. Allen, Cohen, Feigenbaum, and Russo had 1 tackle assisted by Jackson, McMahon, Vasquez and Weilert. Offense had a tough start but never gave up with QB Patrick Cowie leading the offense after veteran QB Mikey Viggs was put on the DL. The only touchdown came late in the 3rd quarter after a big play by OLB Sonny Garrone set up a fumble recovery and 50 yrd run by Max Rallo giving our offense possession in the Red Zone.  Two plays later with a big push RB Filardi scored putting Pride up by 6.  RB Gallub made it 7 with the EP run and sealed the win. Week 3 has us away at Connetquot.  GO PRIDE!!!

09-11-11 - Hills 13 Commack 0 - Hills Pride 7/8 Red Team won their season opener with a team effort. Commack won the coin toss and chose to receive the ball first. The defense dominated the drive, lead by the big men up front, Myles Jackson and Alijah Allen, preventing the Commack team from making any progress. Also contributing big was Sean McDermott with 2 sacks and Myzel Perien with 2 tackles. Now it was the offense's turn, scoring a touchdown in the opening drive with a 30 yard run by Jared Gallub. Max Rallo made it 7 after a carry up the middle for the extra point   Also contributing to offense was Cowie, Sonny, Cohen, Filardi and Myzel. The final straw happened late in the 4th quarter with a 45 yard run by QB Mikey Viggs on a QB keeper. The offensive line of Allen, Feigenbaum, Jackson, McMahon, Russo, Vasquez and Weilert did a fantastic job all day, opening up big holes for the running backs. Great job!! Week 2 has us playing Kings Park away.  GO PRIDE!!!!

09/25/11 - Hills Pride vs. Central Islip Cougars - Hill Pride faced a strong opponent, and the team rose to the occasion. Pride won 13-0, with the second shut out of the season.  Pride scored on the opening possession, with a 30+ yard touchdown.  Then the defense held in the red zone, and got the ball back for the offense.  The offense marched down, but gave up a fumble.  the defense came and pushed CI backwards. Then Pride went with a ground and pound game, to hold onto the ball, and scored on another 30+ yard touchdown with only seconds remaining on the clock.

9/18/11 - Pride vs. Huntington - Hills Pride 7-8 Black played a dominating game against Huntington, and held the opponent to zero yards until the end of the game.  Up 12-0 at the half, the offense started the half with the ball, and marched up the field for the 2nd half.

11-20-11 -  "Turkey Bowl"  Pride 40 vs North Shore 19.  What a wild game, extremely proud of all the boys.  Special shout out to Salvatore Pascarella and Noah Gilden for stepping up in a big way.  We where without our two centers for this game and these boys filled in superbly.  North Shore jumped out to a 6-0 start.  Pride bounced back to tie it up on Donovan Jarvis 65 yard run straight up the middle.  That was all the scoring for the first quarter.  The second quarter started off with two quick scores by North Shore; a 30 yard pitch pass and a fumble return for 25 yards.  Pride is down 19-6.  With time winding down in the second half we fumbled again and North Shore tried to put us away on a long pass play.  Thanks to excellent pressure by our D and great coverage by Donovan, he had an interception return for a 70 yard touchdown.  Extra point was added by Kaleeb Barrett.  Halftime score Pride 13 North Shore 19.

Second Half North Shore started with the ball first and was shut down the rest of the day by an inspired defense led by Dylan Niederauer.  Can't say enough about our defense made tackles for negative yardage the whole second half.  Great job by:  John Dominic, Noah Gilden, Marc Cohen, Robert Key, Robert Stewart, Conor Travaglione, Joey Viglucci, and Andrew and Joe McDonald.

Now for the scoring.  3rd quarter we had a long ball controlled drive resulting in a 3 yard touchdown by Donovan.  Score 19-19.  The 4th quarter was crazy.  We had another ball controlled drive resulting in a 7 yard touchdown run by Kaleeb Barrett.  Extra point was added by Donovan.  Score Pride 26 NS 19.  North Shore fumbles the ball.  Donvan had an amazing 30 yard run, started to the right came all the way back to left and down the sideline for another score.  Extra point was added on a beautiful play action pass from Brian Flattau to Dylan Niederauer.  Pride 33 NS 19.  The final score was added by Donovan Jarvis who ran for a 50 yard touchdown.  The extra point was added on a tackle eligible pass from Brian Flattau to Billy Fitzpatrick.  I have to say thank you to our offensive line.  There is no way we could have scored 27 points in the second half without you guys.  Great job boys:  Billy Fitzpatrick, Frank Caputo, Noah Gilden, Robert Key, Salvatore Pascarella, Robert Stewart and Joe Viglucci.  I know it is a long message here but you guys deserved it.  We the coaches couldn't have been prouder of you guys, awesome job all year long.

11/13/11 -  Pride 28 vs. Hauppauge 6.  What a game by all the boys.  Excellent effort and total domination from start to finish.  The scoring started off in the first quarter with Donovan Jarvis 60 yard end around.  Kaleeb Barrett added the extra point.  The defense was dominating all day long.  After two consecutive plays for losses, Joe Viglucci sacked Hauppauge’s quarter back for a safety.  Our next scoring drive resulted in an 8 yard run by Donovan Jarvis.  The extra point was added by Brian Flattau to Dylan Niederauer on a play action pass.  Our next score was a Kaleeb Barrett yard run.  This was set up by an interception by Jarvis.  Extra point no good.  Our final score was a 65 yard run by Andrew McDonald, awesome job Andrew.  The extra point was no good.  Hauppauge’s score was late in the game when we were in a prevent defense.  I can’t say enough about the great job the defense did all day long, another key interception by Robert Stewart and Crushing sack by Billy Fitzpatrick.  Our offensive line was tremendous all day long opening up nice holes for the running backs.  Very proud of our O line.  I have to mention a great play by Christopher Macaluso.  It occurred on an interception return we had.  Chris hustled down the field and peeled back to lay a devastating block on Hauppauge.  Great hustle and awesome pancake.  One game to go guys let’s keep up the good work.

11/6/11 -  Pride 26 vs.  Three Village 13.  What a crazy wild game, story of two halves.  The first half Three Village came out in a spread offense.  They confused our defense and where able to move the ball up and down the field.  Also on offense we had a couple of penalties and turnovers.  Halftime we were down 13-6.  The second half all the boys played incredible.  The defense stepped up in a big way not allowing Three Village another point.  They might have only had one or two first downs the whole second half.  The offensive line was amazing, the way they were able to open up holes for the running backs.  Our offense was on the field most of the second half sustaining long drives down the field resulting in touchdowns.  The final score was 26-13.  Great job by the entire team!!  One game to go boys keep up the good work.

10/29/11 - Pride 6 vs. Bellport 32. Not much to say here, we ran up against an excellent team.  They were a much bigger and faster team.  They probably outweighed our kids by an average of 30 lbs., especially on the offense and defensive lines.  What I can say is that I was very proud of our kids.  Even though the score doesn’t reflect it their effort was great.  They boys never gave up and tried their best to compete.  I couldn’t ask for more and I am very proud of each and everyone one of them.  Happy Halloween and Tuesday back to work.

10/23/11 - Pride 33 vs Bayport 19.  Awesome job by all the boys, both on Offense and Defense.  This week we had 0 turnovers and two BS penalties which resulted in two touchdowns taken away during the early part of the game.  They were a Donovan Jarvis had a 65 yarder and 95 yarder with 30 seconds in the half, called back on two of the worst calls I have seen in 6 years coaching.  Watched the tape and no penalties on either play.  I was extremely proud of the boys for not letting that bother them or all of the holding calls that were not called on the other team.  Ok enough with that.

The offensive line was tremendous again opening huge holes all day long.  They were very disciplined causing the other team to jump off sides 3 times.  The scoring began with a 30 yard run by Donovan Jarvis.  The extra point was added by Kaleeb Barrett.  Bayport bounced back with a 65 yard TD run of their own, extra point was no good.  Kaleeb Barrett was a force scoring two TD’s.  Donovan also ran for another 60 yard score.  The play of the game was on 65 yard pitch pass from Donovan Jarvis to Joe Viglucci to seal the game. The turning point was a wonderful goal line stance by our defense.  With the score 14-6 and 1:30 left in the half Bayport had 1st and goal from the 3yd line.  The defense stepped up big.  Great job boys.  Proud of all the boys’ effort and looking forward to this weeks game.

10/15/11 - Pride vs. Connequot 37-26. Outstanding job by offensive line and defensive team.  We jumped out to a 31 to 6 lead, then after a prevent defense and 7 fumbles later we ended up winning 37-26. Highlights: Great job by Kaleeb Barrett, Running over tacklers and sprinting for a 40 yard touchdown. Donovan Jarvis ran for 4 YES 4 touchdowns and had a pick six on defense. It was the team's first interception return for a touchdown. I was so proud of ALL our boys for playing with heart against a team filled with heavyweights.

10-9-2011  Pride 27 vs Commack 12.  Excellent job by all the boys this week.  The score was 13-12 at half time.  The kids came out strong and shut Commack down the rest of the day.  Donovan Jarvis had 4 touchdown runs on the day.  This was set up by hard running by Kaleeb Barrett and Dylan Niederauer. Kaleeb added two extra points.  Third was Joey Viglucci to Robert Stewart on a beautiful bootleg pass.  Needless to say we couldn’t have accomplished this without tremendous blocking by the O line.  Awesome job by Mark Cohen, Jake Zacharakis, Salvatore Pascarella, Christopher Macaluso, Frank Caputo, Robert Key, Bill Fitzpatrick and Noah Gilden. The defense also did an excellent job.  Shout outs go to Conor Travaglione, DJ McMahon, RJ Pleasants, Robert Stewart, Josh Serure, John Dominic and Anthony Tubens.  You boys did an excellent job shutting down the wedge. Play of the day:  Driving on Commack’s six yard line for a score.  On a very late whistle our running back gets stripped of the ball.  Commack’s kid is running for TD and Joey Viglucci hustles back to make the tackle on our  own 30 yard line and strip the ball to save the lead.  Noah Gilden is also hustling back and recovers the fumble.  Very proud of the two boys for not quitting on the play and making a game changing tackle.

10/2/2011 - Hills 25 vs Northshore 13.  Very proud of all the boys this week, they came to play.  The offensive line was excellent opening some very nice holes all day long.  Donovan Jarvis had some beautiful moves this week scoring three times, 70 yards, 30 yards and 65 yards.  The best drive of the day was in the fourth quarter when we methodically marched the ball down the field behind an excellent effort by the O line and some tough running by Kaleeb Barrett and Dylan Niederauer.  Which resulted in a 3yd TD run by Dlyan.  The extra point was added by QB Joe  Viglucci on a nice bootleg to the end zone.  Joe stepped up for the team and played QB do to an injury.  Very proud of him, he did an excellent job.Defense was great all day long.  The defensive line was eating up blocks and fighting through all day which enabled the linebackers to blitz effectively.  Nice job by:  John Dominic, Noah Gilden, DJ Mcmahon, Frank Caputo, Conor Travaglione,  and Andrew McDonald.  We had one melt down which allowed Northshore to scamper for a 70 yard TD run in the first half.  The second TD was in a prevent Defense.  Back to work this week, nice job boys.

9-25-2011 -  Pride 13 Kings Park 32.  The game was a lot closer than the score reflected.  We had a touchdown called back, three fumbles and some untimely penalties that stalled some long drives.  Have to go back to the basics, blocking and tackling.  The boys are working hard and just have to work on some fundamentals.  Looking forward to this week’s game and a strong bounce back.Donovan Jarvis had two beautiful touchdown runs.  Kaleeb Barrett did an awesome job lead blocking, panicking several kids throughout the day.  Defense kids need to learn to stay home and wrap up.  That being said I see improvement from them each week.

09-18-2011 -  Hills 13 Eastport 32.  Tough loss this past weekend.  It was a tale of two halves.  Eastport was a big physical team that we had trouble stopping in the second half.  Donovan Jarvis had two very nice runs for touchdowns. Dylan Niederauer added the extra point.  We had some missed opportunities for turnovers and to make first downs. Need to get more pressure with our defense.  Also need to work on sustaining drives.  We will focus on both this week.

Nice job boys we will regroup this week.  Be ready to work hard.

09/11/2011 - The season was off to great start with a 20-7 win vs. Hauppauge.  Our offense drove the ball down the field but the drive stalled.  The scoring started off with our defense scoring first.  Excellent pressure by the defense resulted in Christopher Macaluso tackling the running back in end zone for a safety.  The defense was excellent all day long.  We had one break down which resulted in Hauppauge scoring on about a 50 yard run.

The offense worked hard all day long.  The key was the offensive line.  They enabled us to move the ball up and down the field.  Our first score was on a perfect 7 yard strike from quarterback Brian Flattau to tight end Joey Viglucci.  Our second score was short tough run by Donovan Jarvis.  The final score was by Dylan Niederauer who was a work horse all day long.  Special thanks go out to all the boys who opened holes all day long:  Sal Pascarella, Josh Serure, Jake Zacharakis, Frank Caputo, Chris Macaluso, Robert Key, Billy Fitzpatrick, Kaleeb Barrett, Noah Gilden and Joey Viglucci.  We need to work on extra points!!  Very proud of the all the boys, excellent effort.

11 Blue -  Coach Chris Tiriolo

2-0

9/25/11- Hampton Bays- Our 2nd game was our home opener. On a hot,  humid day, our team came ready to play. Their opening drive was a quick 3 and out after great line play from Keith, Joe and Nick- not to mention the constant pressure from our ends- Jeff and AJ. On our first play we quickly changed Hampton Bays record of not being scored upon with Jeff getting the ball and having him sweep around the left side for a 50 yard touchdown run. Barely missed the extra point for a 6-0 lead.  Back on defense and it was more of the same suffocating pressure by the ends, linebackers Griffin, Dom and Jesse and a 3 and out. Our next series started with a 2 yard gain by Jesse, a 15 yard pass completion to Bradley on a TE flat play, a 3yrd gain by Jeff on a sweep play, a 4 yard completion to Bradley again and then on 3rd and 3 with great blocks from Jake at Tackle and AJ at guard we ran a QB keeper and picked up the 1st down.  with Jeff in at QB, a short run on first down was followed up by Jeff running 30 yards as he scrambled out of the pocket.  it was first and goal from the 10. With Griffin back in for Jeff, we ran 2 runs that only picked up a yard and Jesse went down.  Jeff's back in at RB and ran the ball down to the 5 and brought up 4th down.  We went for it and Griffin dumped it to Bradley, he ran out of one tackle and galloped into the end zone. A missed extra point and it was 12-0 shortly before half.  It was more of the same from our defense- spectacular play by Jeff chasing down a sweep play to the other side of the field, big plays by Hunter and Avery at corners with forcing the action back inside. Corey, Jack, Eric, Joe and Jake played great at all of the positions they were asked to play on defense.  A 3 and out of our own sent out our punt team and with a good kick and cover was back down in their end. More stellar defense got us the ball back. Jesse was held for no gain, Jeff had a 3 yrd pick-up and then in the process of picking up 3 more yards, Jeff hurt his ankle and would be lost for the rest of the game.  Our defense maintained their very high standard with playing fast and aggressive- still no room for their team to run.  When we got the ball back, a couple of incomplete passes and then a 25 yard pick up by Griffin on a scramble out of the pocket. Then we started to run out the rest of the clock with a run play, a dump to Jesse in the flat for 5 yards, a run and on 4th down an incompletion. Our defense finished up the game with not allowing their team to cross the 50 all game.  A great win for the boys under tough conditions, in game injuries and action that was getting a little chippy.

9/18/11 At Smithtown- our first game of the season coming off our bye last week. We won the coin toss and elected to defer. The coaches implored the d to set the bar with the first series. They did with holding their o to a 3 and out. Eric jumped on the ball at the 45 and our o setup for our first series. Running a sweep to the left, Jeff used his speed to get to the outside and 45 yards later scored our first TD of the year. Missed extra point and it's 6-0.  With another impressive d stand with another 3 and out, and a miscue on their snap for the punt gave us the ball on their 28 yrd line. An incomplete pass setup 2 and 10. Jeff ran for 22 yards on a dive play to the strong side of our unbalanced line. On first and goal from the 6, we ran a fake sweep to Jeff, Griffin rolled out to the right, and threw a pass to Bradley who was alone in the end zone for our second score.  We went for the extra point field goal- great place and hold by Jake and Jeff's kick is good for 2 points. 14-0. Next d series had us giving up our first 1st down, but then the defense held on when they went for it on fourth down. Our offense stalled losing a yard on a carry and then 2 incomplete passes. AJ nailed a punt that was downed back in their territory by Jesse. Another 3 and out and a miscue by their team on the snap for their punt gave us the ball back at their 8 yard line. Jeff got the call on a dive to the right, bounced it outside and stiff-armed a defender on his way into the end zone for our 3rd score. A missed extra point and it was 20-0 at just a minute into the 2nd quarter.  In our modified defense, we got another 3 & out. Another bad snap on their punt attempt gave us the ball back. On our first play on o, a good hit by their defense caused Corey to fumble in which they recovered.  Another great defensive stand and we got the ball back just before the half.  3 plays that didn't gain any yardage and it was half.  The 3rd qtr saw Smithtown hold the ball for the entire quarter picking up a few first downs against our modified defense. But on a fourth down try, we held and got the ball back.  We were sacked on two consecutive pass attempts. On third and long, AJ threw a pass complete to Avery for a 10 yard game. On 4th down, AJ boomed a kick 30 yards that was downed. Defense went back in and again exerted our will against their o with big hits by Joe, Bradley and Griffin. Last play of the game had Joe shooting a gap into the backfield and intercepting a pitch meant for their running back. Final score 20-0. Team win with everyone contributing through key blocks, tackles, runs and fast play.
